The Battle of Gettysburg

 The Battle of Gettysburg was the skirmish near Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. On July 1, 1863 the Confederates and the Union fought. The Confederates were heading towards Washington D.C. A small band of Union soldiers came to intercept the Southern force. The troups fought at Little Round Top, the Wheatfield, Devil's Den, and the Peach Orchard. The Confederate General, Robert.E.Lee, kept his men to charge into battle. Lee Sends his forces to attack. His actions where his down fall. His second-in-comand, James Longstreak,  thinks as Sun Tzu would have fought. The Union General, George Gordon Meades, pulled his troups back towards Cemetary Ridge, which had countless opputnities of cover. The Confederates charged  up Cemetary Ridge to meet the enemy. 60,000 Confederates against  3,000 Unions fought for 3 days. By using a strategy that Sun Tzu would smile upon,  he repeled the Confederates and managed to win the battle, but in the end there were over 46,000 American casualties.
